Neil's story


GOD TOLD ME THAT JESUS WAS GOING TO HEAL ME

Before a long journey, my wife Barbara and I always pray for protection, asking God to put His angels around the car. My journey on 29 September 2006 was no exception as I set off to Huddersfield.

Whilst driving down Richmond Road, I stopped to give way to an oncoming car due to parked vehicles on both sides of the road. As I was about to set off, I heard a smash as our car was jolted forward, which caused me to be thrown forward, then backwards, causing my head to slam against the headrest.

I got out to inspect the damage and saw that the car which had driven into me was rippled from the bonnet to the windscreen. Thankfully the people in that car appeared uninjured. Although our car only looked scratched on the back panel, I had an increasing pain in my head, down my neck and shoulders.

On returning home, I realised I needed to go to hospital. Our neighbour drove us. At the hospital, the doctor told me that I had whiplash and that the pain would inevitably increase by morning, and that the pain would last for at least four months.All the doctor could do for me was to prescribe strong painkillers.

I must admit, for a second, the thought of a decent amount of compensation flashed through my mind, but something Barbara said reminded me that I don’t do pain very well. So, when we got home, Barbara laid her hands on my shoulders and back and prayed for healing before I went to bed.

As I was laying down, my neck was in agony, and I didn’t get to sleep until the early hours of the morning.As I slept, I had a dream, in which God was promising me that Jesus was going to heal me. He also showed me that by morning I would bend down and touch my toes in front of the whole family.

When I woke up, all of my pain was gone! My family were amazed as I bent down and touched my toes with ease.

One thing that has been confirmed to me is that Jesus continues to heal today and that God keeps all His promises!
